Activated carbon: 7 cases in the country, in which it is indispensable

Activated carbon is a sorbent that is most often used in the treatment of food poisoning or general intoxication. But summer residents have learned to use it in the garden as a fertilizer, disinfectant and a way to purify water. Its advantage is environmental friendliness and safety for humans.

Accelerate root formation

Such a medicine is an excellent substitute for any stimulants for the growth of the root system of young cuttings. Crush 2-3 charcoal tablets, add them to the container of water where the cuttings are. This will accelerate the development of roots, improve survival, protect against fungal infection. Do not forget to add fresh water to the container in time so that the roots do not become dehydrated.

Heal the soil

Activated carbon is useful in the garden if you need:

  • feed the plants - the tablets contain starch useful for them, it is added during the production process;
  • reduce the acidity of the soil;
  • reduce the content of heavy metals in the soil, coal will absorb them;
  • reduce the likelihood of decay of the roots of young seedlings.

Crumble the tablets and place them under each plant, at the rate of two for one bush. It is also permissible to dissolve the tablet in 250 ml of water, pour it under the root.

Disinfect the sections

After pruning shrubs, trees, stems of indoor flowers, be sure to process the cuts, otherwise rot or an infectious process appears. For this, garden var is used, but you can only use activated charcoal. Just sprinkle generously on the sections with a finely crushed tablet, leave without rubbing.

Disinfect seedling soil

For the prevention of fungal infections or the treatment of their initial stage, activated carbon is added to the seedling soil. This is important for cucumbers, bell peppers, tomatoes and eggplants, which are affected by a black leg. 2 tablets of the drug are crushed and mixed with the soil in one box with a volume of 10 liters. If you notice the beginning of infection, then instead of connecting to the soil, sprinkle it on top and pour it with warm water. Before this, it is better to remove the diseased plant along with the area of soil where it grew.

Get rid of midges

In the soil with seedlings and in indoor plants, midges start up. They fly in or enter the house along with fruits and berries. These insects love acidic moist soil, multiply quickly, their larvae feed on the roots, so the plants immediately begin to die.To kill adults and prevent further spread, sprinkle a thin layer of crushed coal over the entire surface of the soil. In addition to repelling insects, it will reduce the acidity and moisture of the soil, and the hatched larvae will not be comfortable there.

Use as medicine

If you scratched your skin, got stung by a wasp, or bitten by a mosquito in your dacha, try to dull the pain and itching with charcoal. Just crush a tablet and apply to the damaged area - the swelling will go away, the discomfort will disappear. If you swallow pesticides or other fertilizers, immediately mix activated charcoal with water at the rate of 1 tablet per 10 kg of weight. Then call an ambulance and try to induce vomiting before it arrives. Coal will partially absorb toxic substances, and poisoning will not be so critical.

Purify the water

Water from the summer cottage contains harmful impurities and toxins. To clean, pour it into a glass container, wrap the charcoal tablets with a bandage or gauze and place on the bottom. Place in a cool place for 12 hours and the water will clear of impurities. Two tablets are enough for 0.5 liters of liquid. Activated charcoal is a cheap drug that is useful to everyone in everyday life and in the garden. It will treat the water, reduce the acidity of the soil, scare off midges, and prevent the appearance of fungus on young roots of seedlings.
